Throughout the 12 months of this 2023 calendar, we are proud to share images from our General Assemblies from 1977 to the most recent in 2022. In 1977 the Inuit Circumpolar Conference —as we were then known — held our first meeting in Barrow, Alaska. On the cover, our founder Eben Hopson, can be seen seated in the centre, wearing a plaid sports jacket. We held our most recent GA, in July 2022. There have now been 14 General Assemblies, held in Canada, Greenland, and Alaska. They are weeklong meetings combining political, social, and economic discussions. We emerge from each with an ICC Declaration, renewed energy, a focused vision on the next four years of advocacy, and the knowledge that our culture and language remain strong.
