Founded in 1977 by the late Eben Hopson of Barrow, Alaska, the Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) has flourished and grown into a major international non-government organization representing approximately 180,000 Inuit of Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and Chukotka (Russia).

Are you an Inuk artist with an interest in Inuinniq topics that spans the circumpolar globe?

Inuit Circumpolar Council is seeking Inuit artists who create art in the following areas: musicians, throat singers, drummers, rap, pop; Inuit clothing designers, seamstresses, fashion, street fashion, beadwork; food art, carvers and jewellers (eg using ivory, bone, soapstone, baleen); dancers, visual arts, basket weaving, filmmakers and every other medium that you use to create a statement!

Each month we will feature an Inuit artist on our podcast – Unikkaat / Circumpolar Waves with “Inuit Artist of the Month” podcasts dropping in January 2023!

The selected artist will receive a $5,000 bursary to further their art. Applicants will be reviewed by an all Inuit selection panel.

Deadline to apply is Friday December 16, 2022 with applications opening in November 2022.
