ICC (Canada) Announces Results of Elections for President and Vice-President of ICC (Canada)

July 15, 2018 – Utqiaġvik, Alaska – The Inuit Circumpolar Council (Canada) is pleased to announce the results of its elections for the positions of President, and Vice-President ofICC (Canada) today following it’s Annual General Meeting held in Utqiaġvik, Alaska.

The candidates for ICC (Canada) President were: Monica Ell-Kanayuk, Okalik Eegeesiak, Herb Angik Nakimayak

Following the election, the new ICC (Canada) President for the 2018-2022 term is Monica Ell-Kanayuk.

The new ICC (Canada) Vice-President for the 2018-2022 term is Lisa Koperqualuk.

Outgoing ICC (Canada) President Nancy Karetak-Lindell thanked all candidates for running in the election for the two positions, which have terms of four years each. The new President and Vice-President take on their new duties following the conclusion of the 13th ICC General Assembly, to be held July 16-20 in Utqiaġvik, Alaska.
